Cops Look at Tight Security in the Capital on New Year’s Eve

securityNew Delhi, Tuesday, December 31 – Apart from the joyous mood of festivity, festivals and celebration bring lots of challenges for the cops every year, especially in Delhi. Since several people are anticipated to consume alcohol on New Year’s Eve to avail fun with friends and welcome 2014, security check will be strict today as well as tomorrow.

Traffic is expected crawl at various regions of the Capital since the police will have an eagle eye over the drunk drivers. Besides, an advisory over parking at different locations and running of the metro trains has also been issued that is intended to lessen down complications related with security. People would not be able to park their cars at Connaught Place after 7 pm. They even have to meet traffic restrictions at Saket, South Extension, M-block market at Greater Kailash, Pitampura, Ashok Vihar, Rohini, Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar, Mahyur Vihar and Karkardooma.

Passengers who commute via metro have been asked to check the metro schedules for both Tuesday and Wednesday as a few metro stations like Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba Road and Patel Chowk will not be functioning. The cops have requested residents to follow traffic rules for smooth running of vehicles on the final day of 2013.
