Joe Diffie to Debut at The Dayton Masonic Center in Downtown Dayton Ohio

November 05 04:20 2019

FRANKLIN, OHIO – As featured in Rolling Stone Country’s ‘Best of the Week,’ GRAMMY® and CMA-winning country music legend Joe Diffie releases debuts at The Dayton Masonic Center in downtown Dayton Ohio.

A native of Tulsa, OK, Diffie is a member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry for 25 years. A star athlete in high school, he originally set his sights on a medical career, but his love for music won out and he began performing in a gospel group. He paid the bills by working in a foundry and later joined a bluegrass band before deciding to give Nashville a try. He got a job working in the warehouse at Gibson Guitars, but felt like he wasn’t any closer to making his dreams come true.

“I’ve always loved well-written songs,” says the Grammy winner, who is just as skilled at writing hits as he is singing them. “There’s really no magic formula. I’ve just always drawn on my own experience whether it’s falling in love or hanging out in a bar. I feel like if I relate to it, other people will too.

With chart-toppers like “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock from the Sun,” and “John Deere Green,” Diffie’s reign includes 13 albums and more than 20 Top 10 hits to his credit. A renowned songwriter in his own right, Diffie penned hits for artists like Tim McGraw, Conway Twitty, and Jo Dee Messina to his credit.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10am at www.ohiomusic.com. Tickets will range from $20 to $80 for VIP with meet and greet.

About Dayton Masonic Center

The Dayton Masonic Center, formerly known as the Dayton Masonic Temple, is a significant building in Dayton, Ohio. It was built by a Masonic Temple Association formed from 14 Masonic groups. The building was completed over a 2-year, 9-month period by 450 workers, a majority of whom were Masonic Brethren, about which it was said: “Without thought of honor or gain, these men gave unstintingly of their time, abilities and means, sparing neither themselves nor their personal interests to advance this building project to its happy fulfillment.”

The building is 265 feet (81 m) long by 190 feet (58 m) wide by 80 feet (24 m) high, and encloses 5,000,000 cubic feet (140,000 m3). It is constructed of steel, cement, and stone, including 55,000 cubic feet (1,600 m3) of Bedford stone and 15,000 cubic feet (420 m3) hard limestone and marble from Vermont, Alabama and Tennessee (marble used for interior floors, wainscotings, partitions and stairways).

The center is a contributing property in the Steele’s Hill-Grafton Hill Historic District, a historic district that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The building is also included in a locally designated historic district.  They Dayton Masonic Center is a proud supporter of the Grafton Hill Historic District.
